Lila – Chestnut Hill Baby Portraits
I have become a big fan of morning light. Every photographer I know talks about “THE golden hour” as being at the end of the day, right before sunset, but they forget that that same magical light happens first thing in the morning, too (or maybe they aren’t parents of little ones and aren’t awake at that hour!). I love the morning light! I also love doing shoots in the early morning BECAUSE the rest of the world is still sleeping, which means no traffic, among other great things like cooler temperatures. This past Saturday morning, I met up with sweet baby Lila and her parents at 7AM. It was such perfect light with such a perfectly happy (well fed and well rested) little 8 month baby girl; I shot almost twice the images that I normally do just because every image was coming out nearly perfectly straight out of camera… I got a little too shutter happy, maybe. Anyway, I had a great time, and I hope to see this sweet girl and her parents again soon! Happy viewing, friends!
i love this age (6-9 months)… so curious about everything!

seriously, how cute is she?!

one happy family!

nothing is safe around this age… they grab everything!

she was fascinated by my camera (another plus to this age!)

love the daddy moments.

grabbing her toes… so cute!

generally, Lila did not like the grass nor did she like laying on her back, but I got a happy shot with both!

… and one that is more realistic to who she is right now (with the grass, that is). ;-)

LOVE!! (you can’t MAKE light like this!)

oh, the teething giraffe toy…

she loves it!

i love everything about this shot, thought I can’t tell you specifically why.

love macro shots with babes, too.

pure joy.

happy family!

these last two make me melt. every mother needs some shots like these! this is exactly why I don’t just do baby portraits in the traditional sense of the babies alone for the entire shoot… Lila will love these next two images when she grows up.

two beautiful girls!

Thanks again for waking up with me for this shoot!
