Nathaniel – Newborn Portraits
There is nothing that makes me happier as a business owner than repeat clients. Nathaniel’s parents are just that. I still vividly remember the first time I met Samantha’s parents at the Lake Placid Bridal show in 2006. I had only been in the area for about a year, and at that point, I had only photographed maybe five weddings just over a year and a half into trying out the whole starting-a-photography-business (only about a month or two full-time at that point). Samantha’s dad asked me some interesting questions about digital photography (which was still fairly young at that point). I could tell they were smart, and I prayed they thought I knew what I was talking about. haha! Pretty much every wedding I booked in 2006, I consider a miracle (all 17 of them), but Samantha & Dave’s wedding was a special miracle. Not just that they hired me, but that I was given the honor to photograph and be a part of their wedding day (I should add, Chris was also part of this). Their wedding was on our very first anniversary. Thank God we were given such a gracious and joyous family to be with on our special day! Sam’s dad even told us where to go for dinner afterwards (their wedding was early and we had time to go out to dinner afterward). Anyway, I could go on and on and on about this lovely couple and their lovely families, but that might get boring to everyone else. So, I will just say… I am once again so honored to photograph their growing family. And, I hope to keep sharing over the course of this year, images of them as their new son grows and changes. Happy viewing, friends!
just for fun… engagement pic… “first comes…”

a wedding pic… “then comes…”

“and then comes BABY!” (sweet yawns)

Samantha (& Dave) both are always so filled with joy. Saturday was no different.

I just love the sleepy newborn stage. Sure, they don’t do much, and sure, they usually barely open their eyes. But, how sweet is this?!

love this one!

i love baby toes. a lot.

there are some baby blues!

so, i loved the pattern of this chair so much that I had to grab a few of the sweet baby on it, but unfortunately, Nathaniel didn’t agree. :-) I almost hesitate to put crying pictures on my blog because I don’t want parents to think that is all I got (because babies aren’t always super psyched to get their pictures taken). But, I couldn’t pass on this one.

all better!

love the sweetness of this next one. also… I love Nathaniel’s newborn hair.

Samantha’s parents have a place on Brant Lake (where they were married), and it was a buzzing place. I had to grab a few wide shots to show the family love.

… and just for fun… the last time I was on this porch, this is what was happening… :-)

and, one to close… Nathaniel’s sweet cousin Aiden. How cute is he?!

Thanks again, Sam & Dave! It was such a treat to see you again; this time as parents! Can’t wait to watch Nathaniel grow!
