The Craven Family

This post has been a long time coming. Heather was Claire’s nanny for a little over a year, from when we moved to the area up until Ellen was born actually. Unfortunately, just as I was wanting to return from maternity leave, she was wanting to go on hers! She was so wonderful with Claire, and I totally would’ve paid her 2-3 times what she charged if I could’ve afforded it. So, the Christmas before last, I gave her a “gift certificate” for my services. It wasn’t totally egotistical of me, as the whole reason we’d been connected before she began watching Claire was based on her initial love for my photography. Sure, she had known Chris back when he was a Young Life leader at her high school, but she is a talented photographer as well. So, I offered it, back before Levi was a glimmer in her eye (or wait, he was and no one knew yet!). Anyway, she wisely requested we wait to do the session until her baby came, and so we did! I am so excited to share these with all of you. Happy viewing, friends!
man, I love the spring! (apart from the allergies, anyway) Blooming trees are my favorite thing!
so fun!
joy!
so, in case you haven’t noticed one new thing on this blog is that we now have a “featured image” at the top of the post. this image has been resized to fit perfectly as your “cover image” on the new Facebook timeline, so no more need to crop out the logo just to get your faces in the frame! ;-) but, here’s the full image, too.
there is not much sweeter to me than a nearly naked baby!
…except that I love mommy-child portraits a ton!
So, I have to admit that I was not expecting to take any portraits of Levi by himself. As a photographer myself, I understand the trouble of having far too many and yet never enough pictures of your children. But, I took them upon request, and I am so glad I did! What a cutie!!
I know it makes parents nervous, but I actually love it when babies this age reach for my camera. I just LOVE their fascination with everything in arm’s reach!
and then more out in the grass with the blooming tree!
So, Levi’s crawl is more like a pike position in motion. I love it! haha!
and a few of the lovebirds to close… :-)
Heather, I am forever indebted to you for caring for my eldest daughter as if she were your own. There really is no price you can put on that service (well, apart from what the wallet allows, but you know what I mean). You are such a blessing, and your sweet boy is so fortunate to have you as his mother! Thank you!!
