The Shields Family

The Shields Family

Monday was supposed to be a scorcher.  The forecast said a high of 90.  If the high gets much above 80, I start to internally complain.  When the high reaches 90, those internal complaints become pretty external.  Fortunately, however, I don’t believe it reached 90 in our neighborhood.  Even still, for the first time (that I remember anyway), I sported shorts to a portrait session because I knew I would do some running after three adorable kids, and I didn’t want to be a sweaty mess.

So, I met up with the Shields family at the Curtis Arboretum on this not-so-much-of-a-scorcher Monday this week, and I was so excited to get together for this shoot.  Corby was the youth pastor at our church, and Chris and I both have a special place in our hearts for those that minister to youth.  Well, this sweet family is packing as I type to move up to Boston to plant a church, and they are sure to do and see amazing things.  Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the beauty of their family.  Happy viewing, friends!

Hank informed me that climbing trees is a gift God gave him (bless his heart!).  By the way, this is only the second Hank I have met.  The first of which is my older brother, so I’m not really sure saying ‘I met another Hank 30ish years ago’ really works??  I digress.

this is Reece.  She is a year older than Claire, but sometimes, they’re in the same class during my Bible study… and thus, I’ve heard about her more than I’ve spent time with her.  :-)

And finally… here is Barnes. (I know, funny connection, right?  There’s more… mom’s name is Rachel, which is also my legal name).  Anyway, Barnes is playing hide-and-seek here.  He’s two, and even though his eyes are shut tight, he’s the one who is hiding here.  :-)

Hank and dad playing around…

Barnes couldn’t get enough of the dandelion seeds!

like I said… Barnes couldn’t get enough of those seeds.  He would just wander off to get them!

family fun!

gosh, I LOVE this next one.  Two beautiful girls!

seriously, Reece couldn’t be prettier!

Thanks so much for taking the time out of your busy schedules to allow me to give you some pictures for your new home, Shields family.  I am so very glad it worked out to for me to do it, and we wish you many blessings in the path ahead of you!
