Carla & Darik – ENGAGED!
How is it that it was beautiful every day for the past week, and the one day I had a shoot scheduled, it rained?! Well, fortunately, we only had solid rain for a few minutes… the rest of the time, it was just misty. But still… I have 4 more shoots this week, and I am hoping the weather will be nice to me. With that said, Carla & Darik didn’t mind the rain too much at all. In fact, we really had a great time walking around Main Street in Lake Placid just getting to know each other. Carla & Darik will be getting married in July of 2010, and unlike most of my engagement sessions, we all decided we would try out the engagement session before we sealed the deal for the wedding. So, I’m still hoping I get this one because this couple could not have been cuter together. Super sweet, really. In fact, Carla told me as soon as we met up, “I don’t do the serious picture thing.” I told her that was fine because I don’t really do the unnatural thing. Aaaaannnd, I kinda like it when people look happy that I am taking their picture. ;-) Anyway, we had a blast in spite of the nasty weather, and I hope you enjoy these images as much as I enjoyed taking them. So, Carla told me before the shoot that green adirondack chairs will be a big part of their day’s decor, so she wanted me to incorporate them however I could in the shoot. Well, those chairs aren’t super easy to photograph people in… I’ve tried a lot of things with them since they are so popular around here… but I had never thought of this! Background chair (with rain drops in between)

No, wait, this one is! Carla & Darik are avid hikers, and after a long hike in the Adirondacks, what is better to eat than a hamburger and better to drink than a cold beer?! So… they just so happen to come to the brewery every time they come into town, so we had to get a shot in front of the sign… and, they, had to keep on the cuteness. :-)
Alright… the closing shot of the day… one more way to incorporate the Adirondack chairs… and the bling!
