    The Lawrence Family

    I
realized that it is September 3rd now, which is over a week from when this shoot happened. My clients are so patient (when warned, of course)! The crazy week or so in the Adirondacks consisted of 3 weddings and 9 shoots, and while it was so fun to do all of these and see some of my favorite clients (new and old), I have been nothing short of TOTALLY exhausted since I got back. If I had kept on moving, I maybe wouldn't feel so tired? But, anyways, I warned my clients that it wouldn't be the normal blog-within-48-hours deal, so some of them are waiting EVER so patiently, as I will STILL be blogging about these shoots for two more weeks!!

But, anyway... the Lawrence family... I met them last summer when Owen was still in the womb at a baby shower of a mutual friend. We started talking, and well, I knew I would hear from them sooner or later for their son's/family's portrait time. And here we go! We met early on last Thursday morning to do this (because babies aren't their happiest when the sun is at its best!), and it was well worth waking up early for! What a fun family! Happy viewing, friends.

what a stud! Owen is striking a pose!

ha! love this face! Claire used to make the same one all the time!

    love

    double love

so serious! I have a newfound love for serious babies, especially since Claire is more on the serious side... such contemplative little smart ones. :-)

    weeeee!!

the next two are very similar, but i LOVE them both!

    sweetness...

oh, yes, we can play with our lips and be silly, too.

this was not really a set-up shot, which makes me love it even more!

    sweetness again!

i have a special place in my heart for mommy-n-me pics

sorry, Julie, this one makes me laugh because it happens ALL THE TIME... sincere moment during a photoshoot... "hey, look, Owen, there is a camera!" he only pseudo cared, i think.

we went back to their house for a moment... love babies in their beds, but Owen wasn't so excited about getting into bed. NOT bedtime already!

more cuteness I can barely stand.

Thanks so much! I had such a great time with you three!

    The Blacksmith Family

    O
h, Adirondacks... how I have missed you so! This week has been INSANE!!! And, I think that is kind of putting it lightly. The weather has been all over the place (but mostly chilly and wet), which makes planning outdoor sessions that much more fun, but I survived... and not only survived. I loved it! (well, not the rescheduling part) The Adirondacks are full of people I just love to work for, and the Blacksmith family (though new clients) are not an exception. I knew it would be a wild shoot with 4 under the age of 6 (the youngest 2 being 14 mo old twins), and for that reason, I was pumped. I love kids. I love that I get to work and play with kids in my job. And, these kids are just beautiful! I couldn't get over it, really. It was a blast, and I hope you all have fun watching the preview... Happy viewing, friends!

    sisters!! TOOOOO cute!

how beautiful is baby Anabelle? seriously.

And, then, there is big sis Isabella. I love her.

    the whole clan.

    sweetness.

    WEEEEE!!!

I think they liked me... or was it just the scooters? ;-)

    love!

babies that don't love being thrown in the air worry me. i think they are supposed to love it, right? ;-) Well, he clearly does!

sweet girl with PAINTED fingernails! brave mom for trying that one!

    handsome Lazarus!

    you, too, Matthias!

see what I mean? how can you not love Isabella?!

they are such happy kids. you MUST be doing something right!

love this one... a lot. Dad and Lazarus watching the clouds and finding shapes.

and, of course, how it all began... ;-)

Thanks so much, guys! I had such a great time, and I hope to keep up with you in the future!

    The Canipe Family

    A
nd so the crazy Adirondack trip begins (10 shoots and 3 weddings in 11 days)! It couldn't have started with a more precious family. The Canipe family lives a few hours away from Lake Placid, but last year, when Max was just born, they decided they wanted to make an annual family vacation up here. They admitted part of the plan was to have their portraits done with me, and I know they were bummed when I announced our move. BUT, fortunately, we will always come back around this time of year... and thus, their plan (as long as they are able) is golden. ;-) I so appreciate repeat clients, but I also LOVE seeing how much kids change and grow over time. So special. Happy viewing friends!

these first two makes me melt a little... and make me excited for down the road when we have a few more kids.

    Beautiful girls!

    seriously, how sweet is this?

    a moment alone, albeit brief!

    how cute is Max?!

these swings kinda make me laugh.

    LOVE!

    might be my fave moment.

    weeeeeee!

    sweetness...

this is how you know the session is done. ;-)

Thanks so much to the Canipe family for coming this way! It was so great to see you guys again!

    The Randall Family

The Randall family's middle name is chaos... or diapers... I can't remember. ;-) I vividly remember Andrea speaking up at church (our tiny church in Saranac Lake of 30 members) and having a prayer request that she wanted to be pregnant again. Quinn was about a year old at this point, and it made sense to have kids closer together, right? Literally, a month later, she comes back with the great news that she was indeed pregnant. A few weeks later, we hear the kicker... "we're having twins!!!" :-) I love Andrea's zest for life and how she can laugh at things others may deem as life's inconveniences. Sure, they had three babies under the age of two for a few months there, but she made it. She and Scott are fighters for sure. I think you have to be when you have little ones, especially if you stay home with them (that is HARD work, people, in case you don't know). I keep telling her (or myself) that when all of her kids are in school, it will be easy breezy because they will be together, at the same school, for most of their education. But, I know they don't want to wish away these years until that happens. I know that for several reasons, but for one, they felt it was important to once again capture their family in front of my lens. And, I am... once again... honored. Happy viewing, friends!

when you have little ones, I try to get a posed shot right off the bat to get it "over with"- not too shabby here. everyone looks happy!!

okay, this next moment was so brief that I had NO IDEA that I actually captured an image like this. Quinn is a firecracker. But, he loves his mommy so!

sweet lil Aiden, having a moment with his daddy

    heeeeey pretty girl!

nothing better than babies flying through the air!

Aiden, I told you before, I got enough hay BEFORE the shoot, but thanks anyway!

kids and sunglasses. not much cuter than that....

... well, except for lil girls in tutus. ;-)

QUINN! (again, i am pretty amazed i got a pic of him standing still)

    sweet babies and mommy.

i love this because I think this moment is (at its core) sincere and honest and real. and it makes me giggle a little.

weeeeee! (Andrea & Scott are great at not ignoring their 2.5 year old boy for their babies, and I love it)

    love!!

    LOVE!!

    ahhh.... (deep breath)

Thanks again, guys! We miss you!

    The Urquhart Family

    T
his post takes me back... and not just because I have known the Urquhart family for five-ish years and remember all of these "kids" when they were kids (Chris and I even taught Erin & Quinn in Sunday school when they were both in middle school)... but, this also reminds me so much of what it was like to be a "kid" with three brothers, playing in the woods. Sure, this family isn't full of "kids," as 3 of the 4 are in high school or college, but they are still the Urquhart kids. And, I loved every minute of this shoot, even with the bazillion bug bites I acquired from this venture in their woods. Hopefully, you all enjoy this post as much as I enjoyed shooting and looking through them! Happy viewing, friends!

    seriously cute.

we did four brief individual portraits of each of the kids... (more of Erin coming later today!) Meet Dylan, Erin, Quinn and Ian.

    and the proud parents...

what a good brother Quinn is! He carried Erin up a steep hill!!

    a fun lil family portrait.

of course, we got a few like this, too!

    can you feel the love?

    how about now? :-)

gotta have one of just the girls...

while i got that last one, the boys just happened to strike a pose on a fallen and uprooted tree. ha! lookin' tough, guys!

another silly face shot... only appropriate, right?

and a favorite to close. jumping!

thanks so much, guys! Erin's senior portraits are coming up in just a few hours! ;-)
