Tori & Dave – Philadelphia Wedding

Nov 3, 2011 By Rae in Weddings Comments Off Tags: Christ Church wedding, Franklin Institute wedding, Philadelphia wedding, Tori & Dave

Last Saturday, we had a random winter day in the middle of autumn. Snow, sleet, rain, wind… you name it. It was a pretty nasty day. The kind of day that most people stay inside by the fire and only go out to make a snowman (maybe). But, this was the day that Tori and Dave were getting married! So, the line “Oh the weather outside is frightful, But the fire is so delightful” kept running through my head, even though I knew we wouldn’t have an actual fire at the wedding. There is something very warm-feeling about a wedding. Anyway, we have TONS of images to share, so… happy viewing, friends!

Chris hung out with the guys a bit before the ceremony… meet the groom… Dave.

The maid of honor, Jen, was responsible for passing on my name to Tori. She and Chris go way back. I love this moment!

the light in the room Tori was getting ready in was DIVINE!! I could have done an entire blog post on my favorite images from just the getting ready shots.

beautiful beautiful bride!

we were originally going to have Tori & Dave’s first look outside the Art Museum, but obviously, that wasn’t going to work in a winter storm… so, we just went to the reception venue, Franklin Institute, for some stunning shots.

We went into the train exhibit for some group shots, and I put them under this light. I went upstairs to get this shot…

… and then got lucky that this shot followed (without being cued).

the ceremony was at Christ Church… the oldest church in Philadelphia, I believe, but certainly a church RICH in history!

this moment makes me a bit teary… Tori grasping hands with Dave’s daughters.

the chandelier was legit. those are real candles, folks.

married!

during the formally posed shot, I managed to grab a more natural moment.

in the winter mix… we took 1 minute outside to grab this shot.

umm… pretty incredible, right?

okay, so they had a candy bar for their favors. major bonus points to anyone that didn’t attend the wedding and can guess the candy I put the rings on in the next 3 shots…

first dance.

Chris’ angle.

Best man roast… I mean, toast!

The matron of honor giving an incredible speech. Thanks again for the referral, Jen! I am lucky enough that Tori gave her two bridesmaids gift certificates for shoots with me! What a great gift!

and one to close the night!

oh… so… I meant to put this one at the top, but here it goes… one of the best stories is that Tori and Dave have known each other their entire lives. Their dads are good friends. And, 26 years ago, they were in a wedding together. The day of their wedding, Tori’s Facebook status made me teary: “26 year ago, I walked down a church aisle, holding hands with a very special boy. Today, I walk down the aisle to same boy. Happy Wedding Day, David.” :-) If that doesn’t give you chills or tears, nothing will. What a sweet story!!
