Your newborn portraits should be more than just pixels on a screen. First, we capture authentic and organic moments between you and the people you love. Then we work with the best craftsmen available to bring you museum quality wall art and heirloom albums that tell the story of your family for generations.

About Newborn Lifestyle Sessions

In newborn lifestyle sessions, leaving your home can be difficult for the first few weeks after your baby has arrived. I’ll come to you at the time of your session and bring everything we need to make timeless and organic portraits no matter how the light is in your home. You will also be able to show off the nursery that you decorated to perfection! We get to incorporate the things that are important to you, your family, and this specific time in your baby’s life. Even if you don’t have a fancy nursery or if you have no nursery at all, we can still find a comfortable place in your house where you’ll feel relaxed and look amazing. Your home doesn’t have to be magazine ready or have perfect light in order to have great portraits.

What To Expect

At home, everyone feels comfortable and relaxed. Parents and siblings (and even grandparents that are helping out!) are all part of the story of welcoming home this baby. We want to work to capture this unique and precious time as organically as possible, but we also realize your two year old’s attention span may not last the entire time. Expect to feel comfortable, and know that everything you’ll need is right at home. The only thing you need to worry about is spending time with your baby, and you can leave the rest to me. Newborn lifestyle sessions are fun! The best time for these sessions is usually within the first ten days after birth, but everyone is different. If you have any questions, you can contact me and I will put your mind at ease.

I Have a 3 Week Old Baby, Can I Get Newborn Portraits?

We can certainly take portraits anytime, but to get a true newborn posed portrait of a sleeping baby, I need to photograph babies in their first week of life. There are exceptions for preemies or babies that come past their due date, but generally, I prefer to do newborn portraits within a couple days of when you came home from the hospital. So, book while you are still pregnant!

Wait. I Will Be So Tired From Birth That First Week. Are You Sure?

Yes, I'm sure. I have been through the birthing process four times myself, so trust me - I know it will not be easy. But, this is why I allow twice as much time for newborns, and I come to your house.

Do You Bring Props And Backgrounds with you?

No, I do not. Babies are small. I use your blankets as backgrounds for portraits of them alone, or simply in their crib sheets. As for props, I generally don't use them, but if there is something special that you really want in your baby's portraits, I am happy to talk about how we can possibly incorporate them. These portraits are mostly lifestyle in nature, and I focus more on connections than perfect poses.

Main Line family photographer

We have been working with Rae for over 11 years now. She has a way of finding the joy and laughter in our young kids through her lens that we don't want to forget. Being a mom herself, Rae recognizes the importance of capturing these sweet times. She is a perfectionist in every sense of the word. We have never been disappointed. We are confident that Rae offers the highest quality products that are available. There is nothing in our home more valuable to us than the photographs on our walls. Thank you, Rae!

Main Line family photographer

What an amazing photographer! Rae took pictures of our 6 month old in our home and we absolutely love the results. She was so great with our baby and you could tell she really loves kids. She has a laid back style that makes you feel really comfortable around the camera. All of her products are top notch as well, the only hard part is deciding what you want (which she helps you with anyway so it's not hard, more exciting.. :) ) We can't recommend Rae enough, you won't regret it!

Philadelphia Children Photographer

Rae is amazing. I have had several sessions with her and without fail each time, she manages to capture these beautiful photos of my crazy kiddos that are perfectly and authentically them. [My kids] have so much fun that they forget that they are having their photos taken. She's incredibly talented but also really down-to-earth and easy to work with. I also recently purchased an album with her as well and it came out beautifully. Her sessions and photos are well worth the investment.

Check Out The Blog

We meet each client in person to ensure that you are the first to see your images. We work together to decide on the appropriate size for your wall art, and we put the rest of your favorites in your album. Typically, we wait until everything is delivered and wall art is installed on your wall before we blog a session; we do this to show everyone the lovely pieces we created for you and your home. This is why you might see a fall session in the winter... or a winter session in the spring... or a... well, you get the point. Regardless, we hope you enjoy some of our recent work!
